3 Black-Owned Brands You Need in 2018

January Calendar Chs.jpeg

We’ve almost made it to the end of 2017! Looking back on the year, I can say that I’m incredibly proud of the goals I’ve accomplished and the growth I’ve seen in myself and my loved ones. I’m setting myself up for more of the same in 2018.  Read on to meet some of the Black-owned businesses that will help me reach my 3 biggest goals for the new year.

Keep my head up.

Even with the personal leaps & bounds I made this year, it was tough not to be distracted by the 3-ring circus we call 45 (OOH, CHILE!) To keep me focused on the positives, I grabbed a prayer jar from Love Sethie. I’ll use this jar to document my prayers, wants, needs and accomplishments for 2018. At the end of the year, I’ll empty the contents to reflect on my progress and set goals for the year to follow.

Stay focused.

I have a lot of things I want to do this year. A LOT. And after learning about the power of writing down my goals last year, I’m going for a little extra push in 2018. It’s great to have goals and jot them down every day, but what happens when you don’t map the journey? Trey Anthony’s Black Girl In Love (With Herself) Lifestyle Planner is a #BlackGirlMagic tool inspired by her 2013 HuffPost article. The #BlackGirlBoss quotes, inspirational drawings and goal-setting prompts will help me to stay motivated on a day-to-day basis and plan out my ultimate glow-up agenda.

Get (my body) in formation.

When it comes to making Christmas dinner, peach cobbler and all the cakes, I got you. But if I’m being honest, I only have about 7 truly healthy meals in my arsenal.  I realized toward the end of 2017 that 26 ain't 16 - I need better fuel if I plan on doing the most this year.  That’s why I was so excited to find Wendy and Jess of Food Heaven Made Easy. Their 28 Day Plant-Powered Health Reboot is a cook book full of delicious and healthy recipes. I can’t wait to try them. Keep an eye out for a detailed review of my reboot in the near future.

That’s it for me! What are your goals for the year? I’d love to help motivate you. Share in the comments. Happy new year....flourish!
